Why not a general model
Built around where AI gets the law wrong
Complex research and review only speed up if the answers hold. These are the failures general models run into, and what DALI does about each.
It invents the citation
A general-purpose model answers from recollection, and recollection produces plausible case names and section numbers that do not exist. DALI cites only what it retrieved from the corpus, so the citation is a link to the document rather than a recollection of one.
It answers with law that is not in force
Digital asset regulation is full of legislation passed years before its obligations commence. A model that cannot tell the difference will answer a question about today with a rule that starts in 2027. DALI tracks commencement and in-force status per instrument.
It sounds certain about unsettled questions
The questions that reach a lawyer are the contested ones. A model trained to be helpful resolves them anyway. DALI separates what is settled from what turns on an untested reading, and says which is which.
It reads the word, not the regime
Token, custody, staking and utility mean materially different things under different tests, and the statistically dominant sense of each is usually the American one. A model reaching for that sense answers a UK fact pattern with a US meaning and never flags the substitution. DALI resolves the term against a jurisdiction-aware taxonomy first, so the right test is applied in the right regime.
It flattens the jurisdictions that differ
Structuring, custody and disputes routinely span several regimes at once, and the divergences between them are the advice rather than a detail to smooth over. A model treats two superficially similar regimes as interchangeable because the language is similar. DALI holds each regime in its own terms and shows where they genuinely part company.

What is DALI?
DALI (Digital Age Legal Intelligence) is a legal research and analysis platform for digital asset, AI and fintech regulation. Ask it a regulatory question and it returns a structured note with every proposition cited to a primary source you can open. It also reviews agreements clause by clause against the rules that apply to them, compares how the same activity is treated in different jurisdictions, and turns a mandate into the sequence of regulatory steps it requires. It is built for law firms, in-house legal teams and compliance functions.
How is DALI different from asking a general-purpose AI model?
A general-purpose model answers from memory, which is why it produces citations that look right but do not exist, and states superseded rules with complete confidence. DALI does not answer from memory, and it does not search the open web when you ask a question. It reads only the primary legal sources it has already collected and checked, and cites what it read. Where those sources do not support a proposition, it says so rather than filling the gap.
Where does the law come from, and how current is it?
From the publishers themselves: legislation, regulator rulebooks, guidance and case law, taken directly from the bodies that issue them rather than from secondary summaries. A monitor runs every day against those publishers' feeds and ingests genuinely new material automatically, so a rulebook update or a fresh consultation is picked up as it appears. Anything new passes two checks before it is admitted: whether it is relevant to this field at all, and whether it is an authoritative instrument rather than commentary about one.
Which jurisdictions does DALI cover?
DALI maintains a regulatory source base for 13 jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, United States, European Union, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands, and the UAE onshore alongside the DIFC, ADGM and RAK DAO free zones. International standard-setting material that belongs to no single country is tracked separately and attributed as global.
How is client data handled, and is DALI certified?
DALI Intelligence holds Cyber Essentials certification, the UK government-backed scheme administered by IASME on behalf of the National Cyber Security Centre. Client material is scoped to your organisation, with isolation enforced at the data-access layer. Every call to a model provider passes through a single governed egress point. DALI operates a zero-retention posture with its model providers, so client data is not used to train their models.
